As luxury home sales surge and prices on high-amenity houses reach new heights, former and current professional athletes have listed their lavishly appointed homes for sale with features that include a private waterpark, hand-painted wallpaper, private sports courts and imported decorative fountains.

There are four basketball players (LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo) ahead of the first football player (Russell Wilson) on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid athletes of 2023; the top-20 list includes seven golfers, five basketball players, four soccer players, two football players, one tennis player and one boxer.

Four-time NBA champion Tony Parker is parting ways with his sprawling Texas estate six years after playing his last game for the San Antonio Spurs. The listing, priced at $16.5 million, is for a 10 bedroom, 12 bath home on 53 acres in Boerne, about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio. The Mediterranean-style home comes with a temperature-controlled wine room with a 1,500-bottle capacity, theater room with stadium seating, dual offices and 6,000-square-foot gym. Outside, the grounds are filled with a tennis court, sand volleyball court, greenhouse, fruit orchard, herb garden, a private waterpark and a tortoise enclosure.

Bob Turley’s Island Oasis

The former home of Yankees pitcher Bob Turley is listed for sale in Florida for $16.5 million. On Marco Island, a barrier island about 20 miles south of Naples, the 13,262-square-foot “Greystone Manor” includes six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, hand-rubbed venetian plaster barrel ceilings, ornate crown moldings, imported fountains and gray travertine marble flooring. The estate has separate staff quarters, a hidden wine cellar, multiple terraces, koi ponds, a screened-in pool and tennis court spread across 2.63 acres.

Brian Griese’s Mile-High Mansion

Griese, professional quarterback-turned-coach for the San Francisco 49ers, is offloading his 8,254-square-foot Denver home at an asking price of $7.4 million. The impressive stone residence has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, a walnut-paneled library, outdoor kitchen, movie theater, exercise room and expansive patios, complete with an enclosed hot tub.

Channing Frye’s Fun-Filled Colonial

Former NBA forward Frye is asking $5.9 million for his colonial-style Portland, Oregon home complete with an athletic court, pool, hot tub, five bedrooms, seven baths and a separate guest wing. The almost 10,000-square-foot home also includes a three-car garage, finished basement and elaborate game room outfitted with hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper.

Brandon Mcmanus’s Contemporary Colorado Home

Former Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus is selling his Colorado home almost one year after he was released by the team and signed by the Washington Commanders. His 7,000-square-foot house in Lone Tree, about 20 miles southeast of Denver, comes with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an outdoor kitchen, pilates room and a safe room. The smart home also includes a whole-house speaker system, mechanical window shades, a courtyard with heated pavers and a pool cover that automatically slides into place.

Derrick Johnson’s Home In Prestigious Austin Neighborhood

The college football hall of famer and former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker is selling his home in the heart of Austin for $3.75 million.The 5,410-square-foot house includes five bedrooms and bathrooms, a media room, home gym and a water slide into a double-decker pool. The house sits on a 1.5-acre parcel in the Spanish Oaks neighborhood, where actress Haylie Duff reportedly owns a home.

Kenny Pickett’s New Build

Quarterback Kenny Pickett, who was traded last month from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Philadelphia Eagles, is selling his suburban Pittsburgh home for $2.7 million. The almost 9,000-square-foot house was built in 2022 and has six bedrooms and bathrooms, a wood-paneled office, three fireplaces and two outdoor entertaining areas.
