DOWNTOWN YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — A popular taproom in downtown York was recently listed for sale by TRUE Commercial Real Estate.

According to TRUE Commercial Real Estate, the Holy Hound Taproom, located at 57 West Market Street in York, is now listed for sale for $1,795,000.

The Holy Hound Taproom first opened back in 2012 and is owned and operated by Scott Eden who has recently decided to “pass the torch” to someone new to take over the local restaurant and bar.

TRUE Commercial Real Estate says that Eden is looking for a new owner to be good a steward of the business, continue to grow the Holy Hound brand, and to be an active contributor to Downtown York.

According to the listing, this taproom is 6,124 square feet in size and the sale only includes the business, “R” liquor license, and FF&E.

It’s important to note that this sale will require an assignment of the lease.

The listing goes on to say that the future buyer will have the potential to add value to the space by utilizing the adjacent vacant space, named “55 West”, which does not currently host any front of the house customers.

Until a new owner is found the Holy Hound Taproom will continue business as usual; their hours of operation are:

  • Mondays – Tuesdays // 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Wednesdays // 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Thursdays // 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Fridays // 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Saturdays // 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Sundays // 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

According to Holy Hound Taproom’s website, they feature 30 rotating craft beers along side a food menu that is comprised of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The establishment also says that they prepare all their soups, sauces, and dressings from scratch.

The building on 57 West Market Street was first constructed back in 1828 and was originally known as the White Hall Hotel.
