CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A long-time Cincinnati westside ice cream and mini golf business is for sale.

The owners of General Custer’s Golf & Gulp on Thursday posted a message on their website and social media announcing the news:

A LETTER TO OUR BELOVED CUSTOMERS,

MY WIFE KATHI AND I, WANTED OUR CUSTOMERS TO KNOW 1ST, BEFORE WE GO PUBLIC WITH THIS, THAT WE ARE SELLING GENERAL CUSTERS GOLF & GULP. WE ENJOYED 19 YEARS OF HAVE CONTACT WITH THE BEST CUSTOMERS IN TOWN! OUR BUSINESS HAS GROWN OVER THE YEARS AND WE HAVE RE-DONE 6 GREENS THIS PAST YEAR. WE ARE HOPING THAT GENERAL CUSTERS WILL REMAIN AS IT IS, A FAMILY FUN PLACE TO BRING THE KIDS AS MANY OF YOU HAVE GROWN UP WITH US. IT IS TIME WE RETIRE. WE LOVE YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT TO OUR BUSINESS. GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND WISH THE BEST AND GOOD HEALTH TO YOU.

OWNERS GENERAL CUSTERS GOLF & GULP

General Custer’s is located on Westbourne Drive in Western Hills, behind/next to Western Bowl, and offers outdoor seating. The creamy whip menu includes soft serve cones, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, flurries, shakes, smoothies and more. There are also two 18-hole miniature golf courses on site. The complex includes a bungee jumper and a game room.

It originally opened in 1958 as a putt-putt course.
