Longtime customer Nancy Johnston stopped by Friday afternoon to pick up some fruit and vegetable plants for her garden in west Bakersfield. She took a moment to reminisce about bringing her niece and nephew to the nursery’s citrus tastings. But there was no joy in her voice.
